§ 22-59. Retaining walls.

  • It is unlawful for any person to build or construct any retaining wall, curb, grave marker or other structure, around any lot, grave, block or plot of ground set apart to any person for burial purposes in Riverview Cemetery until approved by the sexton; provided, that in certain portions of the cemetery where it may be necessary in order to retain the soil, retaining walls may be permitted to be constructed, if, in the judgment of the sexton, such retaining wall is necessary to protect such lot, block or plot of ground, from erosion.
