§ 22-25. Rules and regulations.

  • (a)

    There shall be no distinction of race, creed or color. There shall be no area set aside for burial of transients, paupers or unknowns. They shall be buried throughout the cemetery utilizing available space, location determined by the sexton.

    (b)

    Costs of opening and closing graves must be paid to the sexton before burial.

    (c)

    No burials of the remains of other than those designated at the time of space or lot purchase by the owner, will be permitted, except as authorized by law.

    (d)

    No burials will be made without 24 hours' notice, with notice made during business hours.

    (e)

    Resale, transfer or trading of spaces must be handled in its entirety by the owners and buyers of the spaces, however any person transferring ownership of any space must pay a fee to the sexton for recording, as set by the board of city commissioners.

    (f)

    No owner of any lot or space in Riverview Cemetery shall sell or rent any portion of lot or space to any individual, firm or corporation for the purpose of display or advertisement.

    (g)

    Mounding of graves after they have settled is prohibited except by cemetery employees. No enclosure of any kind, such as a fence, coping, hedge, trench, etc., will be permitted.

    (h)

    All grading and regrading, or moving of any earth by other than cemetery employees is strictly forbidden. The grade of all lots and grave sites will be completed by the sexton.
