§ 22-2. Hours, speed limit and miscellaneous restrictions.

  • (a)

    Except for city employees, no person shall be at Riverview Cemetery, except during hours open to the public.

    (b)

    All motor vehicles must travel only on designated roadways at speeds not to exceed ten miles per hour; all persons driving motor or other vehicles in the cemetery shall be responsible for any damage done by them, or vehicles in their charge. Special permission must be granted by the sexton for any vehicle to drive in any area of the cemetery other than designated roadways.

    (c)

    The cemetery and/or city will not be held responsible for any stones or anything on any lot or in any mausoleum damaged or destroyed by fires, vandalism, or other damages accruing to private property; neither will the cemetery and/or city be held responsible for any article left on cemetery property.

    (d)

    All pets and other animals are prohibited from cemetery property, except for animals specially trained to assist those with a disability, such as a guide dog.

    (e)

    Firearms or any device used for hunting, fishing, trapping and target practice are prohibited within the boundaries of the cemetery.

    (f)

    All labor must be suspended which is in view or sound of a funeral, until the conclusion of all services.
